[Update] Shooting Star 2 (2013) Android & PC

I’ve updated since January 3, 2012. But my internet is too slow to post it here. I haven’t uploaded PC Version of Shooting Star 2. But i already uploaded Shooting Star 2 Android version.

2013 Massive Game Updates

I’ll make an update to all of my old game (Shooting Star 2 and Catapult) in this January 2013. Sorry for being really really really really late, because I’m too busy doing Wild West Showdown.

Here’s the game that will be update later.

  • Shooting Star 2 (PC) V2.06

So, i think that’s it. That’s a report from Official Beta Testers. Sorry i can’t fix the camera position for Shooting Star 2. I told everyone to tell me the problem, but they didn’t!

[Patch] Catapult Registry Fix

If you can’t save game in Catapult CORE. I think you’ll need this. Sorry for the late. I’ve tested on all computer that this game unable to save. Just use this patch, it’ll fix your saving problem and it’ll also automatically unlocks 2 levels.

[Released] Shooting Star 2 DROID

It’s all about gravity. I’ve been finished Shooting Star 2 for Android… Use Motion Sensor to move your star, including the camera is fixed camera. it won’t move anywhere. Helped by new GUI Recting technique, on some small display device will be able to play this game.

Requirements :

  • Android V2.1
  • ARM v6
  • OpenGL ES 1.x
  • 30 MB Storage of Interal and External
  • 600 MHz of Processor (1GHz is recommended)

Runs great on Xperia Mini ST15i.

Tested Devices :

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini ST15i (Runs Great)
  • Axioo Vigo (A little bit lag on starting session)

[Released ON DESURA] Shooting Star 2 : Long Drive

After a long discussion with our crew, Shooting Star 2 will be paid (as we’ve talked about). We’re going to submit to Desura and Union, but unfortunately, they were reject this game.

Desura : “I am wondering what makes this marble game different from the ones we have on the system and some of them are free.”
Union : ” It’s unlikely that the game will scale well to the platforms with which Union work, especially smart TVs and set-top boxes. Let us know if you have any questions.”

I think i have no choice. Some of our crew says to set this game free, and we’ll work harder to make a better game and sell it.

But, i’ve published on DESURA, and now i’m waiting for confirmation. it takes too long, so i decided to upload it to IndieDB

So yeah, i’ve finished this game (Seems like i’m lack of enthusiasm publishing this game). I’m so proud this game can get rank 102 in 7,868.

[Notice] Laboratories HD

Laboratoriesx86 are entering LaboratoriesHD now. Next Laboratories game (including shooting star 2) will have 2 versions (Free / Mini, and Paid / Full) ( PC / CORE, and Android / Droid). Price range $0.30 – $0.99. I really got nothing by doing all this since last year (I’ve got no fame, i’ve got no money).

The game should be free. but REMEMBER YOU ARE NOT PAYING ME FOR THE GAME THAT I MADE, BUT YOU ARE PAYING ME FOR MY TIME THAT I WASTE. (I’m a 3D Animator too (i need to finish my client requests) and i’m very busy).

Next Laboratories game (for instance shooting star 2) will be uploaded to Full Core (PC Full version) version on desura @ $0.50, Lyte Core (PC Free version) version on indieDB, Full Droid (Android Full Version) on slideme (google play if we could) @ $0.40, and Lyte Droid (Android Free version) on slideme.

The differences between Full CORE and Lyte CORE

  1. Full CORE has all levels (from first to last) and without ads. Lyte CORE has only 10 or 6 levels and 5 seconds of ads in every scene.
  2. Full Droid and Lyte Droid is same with full core.

I also planning to sell games on AppStore (I have iOS license but i don’t have iPhone) (and also unity didn’t let me build as iOS on Windows).

[Update] Shooting Star 2 V0.5REV6

Okay,  i do some update from V0.3 to V0.5 (I added REV for Revision, so it’s not vx.xxfx again). some of it is

  1. Menu bug fixed (You can go anywhere even you have 0 stars)
  2. Every planets has their own trail (which makes looks like SPORE)
  3. BETA Testing level deleted
  4. Tracks were optimized / compressed
  5. Ball speed after reset fixed
  6. Pause Menu color can changeable
  7. Added secret function (Playable on Playstation 2)
  8. and many more i don’t know…

[Tutorial] Blob Shadow Unity Indie

You know that realtime shadow is just for Unity Pro. But you also can use Projector object to create semi realistic shadow (depends on how you draw the shadow).

  1. First what you need is shadow projection shader. You can download it here,
  2. And then open photoshop. Create some black and white shadow.
  3. Create new image with 256×256. Click Rectangular Marquee tool and set the feather to 30 / 15. And then draw it
  4. Press CTRL + Backspace to fill the selection. Make sure the color is white, black.
  5. Save it as .JPG
  6. You also need a falloff image.
  7. Create new image (photoshop) 256x*8. Choose the Gradient tool and then drag it from left side to right side (left side : black, right side : white). Save it as .JPG
  8. In Unity, create new material and then choose the shader to FX / Projector Multiply
  9. You also need to set the shadow image and the falloff image properties
  10. for shadow image, Set texture type to Advanced. Turn on the “Alpha from Grayscale”, and “Border Mip Maps”. Set the Mip Maps Filtering to Kaiser. And the final, set the Wrap Mode : Clamp
  11. Do the same for Falloff image.
  12. and then import shadow image to cookie (in shadow material), and falloff to falloff.
  13. Create new Projector object. Rotate it 90 in the X Axis.
  14. Create a new Layer named “NoShadow”. And then select to an object you want to ignore the layer. For Instance, blob shadow for player, set blob shadow as the child of Player, and then click player change the layer from Default to NoShadow.
  15. You also can use a script to lock the projector (for something like crate) by using private var awakeRot : Quaternion. At the Start function, write awakeRot = transform.rotation; and then at Update function, write transform.rotation = awakeRot;
